In 1998 while working at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino. Michael Tsunis was a
Pool bartender, enjoying the magnificent setting of this glamorous hotel. On
one slow Saturday afternoon, he decided to take a pineapple and shell it out.
Made a Pina Colada inside for the drink, and walked it around the pool, just
for curiosity sake. After a short 5-minute walk around the pool, the response
to the small crowd was very surprising. In approximately 10 minutes the bar
had over 5 different request for the Pineapple Drink. He knew he was on to something,
but what.
Taking the chance along with his Father they invested approximately $60,000 into product research and development. After several months- they came up with the unique design of mixing Krayton rubber along with styrene plastic to form an insulating effect. Thus the Pineapple Body was born- added realistic leaves, a gorgeous stand for durability and gold medallions for logo embossment. The Poolside Pineapple was born and was awarded a US patent in 1999. Through Marketing strategies and ever ending door to door selling. Poolside Pineapple Inc was established in 1999.
Today, 4 years later, Poolside Pineapple and
Custom Logo Glass Design is fastly becoming the innovative leader in all souvenir
and novelty glassware.
